Rtd Lay Reader Michael Kimuli Katunge 1920 – 2025 With humble acceptance of God’s will and thanksgiving for a life well lived, we announce the passing on of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, Rtd Lay Reader Michael Kimuli Katunge Order of St Barnabas who was called to eternal rest on 4th June 2025 at the gracious age of 105 Born in 1920, Rtd LR Micheal Kimuli Katunge (OSB) Mwene Ivia was the devoted father of 15 children - 6 daughters and 9 sons namely: Kimeu, Mateta, Wanza, Mutulu, Ngunga, the late Ngolo, the late Mbithi, the late Nguta, Ndumba, Makau, the late Susan, Juma, the late Kyalo, Rev Mbai and Matano. Father-in-law of the late Elizabeth Kimeu, Grishon Kimeu, the late Francis Kithuku, Micheal Muisyo, Regina Ngunga, Racheal Ngolo, Francisca Mbithi, Daniel Kitulu, Angela Makau, Francis Mwaka, Veronica Juma, Ven Canon Scholar Mbai and Prisca Matano (Jane). Proud grandfather of Musyoki, Albert, Kanini the late Mbulwa, Kyalo, Christopher, Eunice, Mutuku, Winnie, Muthoki, Luther, Caleb, Makumi and 87 others. Great-grandfather to 66, and great-great-grandfather of Paksley and 10 others. We give thanks to God for the gift of his long and fruitful life. The cortege leaves Montenzuma Machakos funeral home at 6.00 am on 21st June 2025 for burial at his home Kilia Village (Kithunthini) Wautu Location Kilungu sub- county in Makueni County. The funeral service will be held at ACK St Luke’s Wautu. Family and friends are meeting daily at his home for preparation and prayers. “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:2 Till we meet again Nau (Mwene Ivia) Rest in power.
